Ride On Car Maintenance

Following the purchase of your electric ride on vehicle, we recommend that you follow these simple maintenance steps to ensure that your ride on vehicle remains in pristine condition – ready to be enjoyed by your loved one at any time.

Charging and Battery Maintenance

Please note that prior to the first use of your new ride on vehicle, it’s crucial that the new battery is primed to accept a full charge with subsequent charging. Always charge the battery according to the manufacturer's instructions. *For most ride on models with a 6V battery, the battery should be charged for at least eight hours; and for ride on vehicles with a 12V battery, the battery must be charged for a minimum of 12 hours. To maintain a healthy battery, please follow these simple steps.

Re-charge the battery when you notice the driving power has reduce. Avoid overcharging (leaving the battery on charge for more than 24 hours) Avoid undercharging (charging the battery for only a few hours) Store your ride on in moderate temperatures. Extreme heat or cold can impact the batteries’ ability to hold charge. *If you plan to store the ride on for an extended period (more than 4 weeks) we recommend that you fully charge the battery prior to storing, and shut off all power by disconnecting the (red) battery wire. During long-term storage, any switches should be placed in the “STOP” or “OFF” position.

Please note: Reduced battery performance due to non-adherence of the required battery maintenance protocol(s) will void battery replacement during the warranty period.

Lubricating your Ride On Car
To keep your ride on vehicle operating and performing well, we recommend applying a small amount of lubricant, such as a silicone-based spray or bicycle chain lubricant, to any moving parts such as wheels, axles, and pedals [ and those components recommended by the manufacturer in the instruction manual] *We recommend against applying grease to external ride on vehicle components to avoid a build-up of grime and contaminants.
Inspecting your Ride On Car for Safety Issues

Your little one may encounter obstacles when learning to drive. To ensure your ride on vehicle remains safe for your loved one to enoy, we recommend performing regular inspections to identify any potential issues. This inspection should include checking for loose screws, bolts, or other fasteners; and tightening them as required. Other key areas to inspect include the seatbelt or safety harness, the steering wheel, the brake pedal and any other moving components to ensure they are secured tightly and functioning correctly. Any maintenance or repair issues that are identified should be rectified immediately [and before the next use] to ensure your loved one is safe, and the longevity of your ride on vehicle.

Storing your Ride On Car Safely

We recommend that you store your new ride on vehicle in a sheltered, dry location. This could be a garage, undercover deck, or garden shed. Avoiding direct sunlight, or hot objects [such as heaters or stoves] which can fade, melt or warp the plastic body of you ride on vehicle, will ensure it continues to look pristine and function correctly. Storing your ride on out of the rain will ensure that the motor, electrical system, battery and other critical components remain dry and free of condensation which can cause rust, leading to mechanical failure. If storing your ride on vehicle outdoors is unavoidable, we recommend purchasing a weatherproof cover to protect your ride on vehicle from water ingress.

To prevent deformation or damage to the wheels or body, we recommend storing your ride on in an upright position when not in use.

Safely Cleaning your Ride On Car

Wipe the toy with a soft, dry cloth to maintain its shine. Use a soft cloth to clean the body of the ride on vehicle. We recommend using a soft brush, or compressed air to clean mechanical components that have accumulated dust. *Do not use chemical solvents, soap, or excessive water to remove dirt and debris.

Sensible and Safe Driving Practices

Our ride on models are designed to be robust and durable. While bumps and scrapes are expected, prolonged rough driving may impact the ride ons performance. Where possible, we always recommend young drivers begin their driving in a large, open space, free from large obstacles and rough surfaces. Drivers should also avoid collisions with changes in surface height, such as steps, gutters and uneven landscapes. Learning to mitigate this wear and tear will prolong the ride on vehicles longevity.
